Owner, Sandy Bennett moved to southwest Virginia from Michigan to buy Blue Ridge Timberwrights in 1994. The company has grown substantially since then, nearly doubling its workforce. Blue Ridge Timberwrights has built timber frames worldwide, including the newly constructed Primland Resort Golf House , Pete Dye River Course of Virginia Tech Clubhouse, "The Winding Bay" located on the Island of Abaco in the Bahamas and several homes in Japan.
