In 2003, BRTW created the timber frame and sashes for the blacksmith's shop at Red Hill. Red Hill, located in Virginia is the last home and burial place of the orator of liberty and Virginia's first elected governor, Patrick Henry. The memorial includes a modest frame home, an overseer's cottage, and a blacksmith's shop. BRTW worked with Craddock Cunningham Architectural Partners of Lynchburg, VA to design a historically accurate blacksmith shop. White oak was chosen to replicate an 18th Century timber frame for the shop. Archeologists were unable to positively identify the exact location of the blacksmith shop so a site was specifically chosen. BRTW is proud to have contributed to this distinctive National landmark. |
